You
follow Di-chan to a landing on the huge spiral staircase that runs throughout
the height of the Tower. At the landing, she turns to you and grins:: Here
we are at the floor where the Elemental Guard each have their own rooms.
This is where they stay when they're not out on patrol or otherwise engaged.
If we head up one more level, we'll be at the floor where the Hall of the
Mirror and the rooms for the Tower Guard and Lord Obsidian are-- the top
of the Tower. And one level below us is the fabled Tower Library and the
quarters of those who watched over that vast collection of knowledge. Below
that level where the Library exists will also be found the quarters that
the younger Gemlords were given as they trained under their two instructors.
::Another brilliant white flash, and Captain Diamond stands there before
you again:: Still on that tour, ne?
Of course. When I said I'd take them for a look around, I meant everywhere.
::Frowns just faintly:: And where are you going now?
The others agreed to let me interview them, give our visitors a chance to get to know them better. So I'm going to their various quarters to meet them there and ask my questions.
::Makes a face:: You're taking them into everyone's bedroom?
::Nods:: No better place to hold an interview that's supposed to act as a character profile. And before you get upset, Captain, they all agreed to this already.
::Walks away, up the stairs, apparently heading for either the Hall or her own room. As she goes, you can hear her mutter something about the Tower becoming a tourist trap::
::Sighs and opens the door at the landing. Beyond the door, you see a corridor that runs through the diameter of the circular space, four doors-- two on each side-- being the only breaks in the hallway's walls. Di-chan gestures to the area beyond:: Here's the floor that houses the Elemental Guard's quarters. We can go in there and talk to them if you'd like, or we can go on upstairs and talk to the Guardian of Space himself. There's a third choice; we can go back down a level as well and talk to a newly-awakened Gemlord, or go further down to the room of a Gemlord that never returned home and one that spent a thousand years on the run in the Dark Kingdom, the only Gemlord not a traitor that survived the destruction of Lithos-- other than Lord Obsidian himself. So, where shall I guide you next?
